Parenting
One of the biggest hurdles for recovering parents is restoring the parent/child relationship. This group provides parents with tools to rebuild shattered trust and learning or re-learning how to treat children with love and respect. Topics include building trust, handling anger and setting rules and boundaries.

Anger Management
This group focuses on the skills needed to effectively manage one’s anger without the use of alcohol or other drugs. Consumers will be taught tools and skills to develop health anger management strategies. |
5:00-6:00pm |
Life Skills
This group focuses on problem solving, aggressive vs. assertive behaviors, gaining employment, accessing health care, managing money and activities of daily living. |

Co-Occuring Disorders
This group focuses on co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders. Topics include alcohol and other drug use, mood disorders, personality disorders and criminal behaviors. The use of medication in recovery is also a topic. |
4:00-5:00pm |
Substance Abuse Education
This group focuses on the short- and long-term effects of alcohol and other drugs. Topics include drugs of abuse, their effects, the disease of addiction and the developmental model of recovery. In addition, focus is given to the link between alcohol and other drug use/abuse/addiction and criminal behaviors. |
5:00-6:00pm |
Relapse Prevention
This group focuses on the stages of relapse and warning sign identification and management. Relapse prevention planning and the connection between alcohol and other drug use and criminal behaviors is also a focus. |
